Anise Museum.

Located in a century-old distillery, it offers visitors, amidst a sensory world, the history and tradition of aniseed and liqueur production. In the first room, copper stills appear, a creation of the local artist, the master coppersmith Francisco Casas, where they explain how such a delicious elixir is made. The Maceration Room has a set of glazed clay jars where different fruits, herbs, and seeds were macerated to obtain the classic liqueurs of Destilerías Duende (rosolí, peppermint, cherries, pacharán, etc.). In its showcases, the history of more than a hundred distilleries dedicated to bullfighters, literary characters, and animals is displayed. From pure grape spirits to the current aniseed varieties that existed in our town from the 17th century to the present day. In the Women's Room, the promotion of female characters in the marketing of various products is emphasized. Important cabaret singers, female bullfighters, and ladies who praise their figure stand out and deserve special attention among the packaging for royal banquets and bottles used in donkey baptisms by various famous personalities. Finally, in the Tasting Room, we will enjoy surprising flavors and aromas of cinnamon, lemon balm, anise,...

A highly interesting option could be the complete guided tour of Destilerías Duende, where starting from a cellar for brandy and punch aging, we can contemplate a collection of American oak barrels, old offices, bullfighting posters, and a myriad of tools for work in the winery and the daily life of the rural world from the 19th and 20th centuries. We will continue through the Patio, an authentic jewel of Cordobese popular architecture, and winner two consecutive years of the First Prize in the competition of Patios in the province of Córdoba, where we will stroll through its various rooms, the kitchen of old slaughterhouses, bedrooms, and bathrooms, amidst an impressive collection of geraniums, aromatic plants, lemon trees, and fountains that refresh the visitor and provide music to our surroundings. It is an ideal place to celebrate an aperitif (only for scheduled groups). The visit continues with different explanations, anecdotes, and curiosities in the different rooms of the museum, ending with a complete tasting of the various distillates, macerates, and aged products that are carefully crafted and cared for in this lively space of Rute's history.
